Her Royal Highness Princess Margriet of the Netherlands spoke on Monday afternoon, December 8, at a donor meeting of the KNCV Tuberculosis Fund at the Netherlands Open Air Museum Arnhem. The museum still houses a TB house where tuberculosis patients were once cared for.

In her contribution, the Princess spoke about her familys connection to tuberculosis (TB), the importance of passing on the legacy, and the ongoing urgency of the fight against tuberculosis.

Tuberculosis remains the deadliest infectious disease worldwide. In the Netherlands, the disease is well controlled. Worldwide, nearly 1.3 million people die from TB annually. Princess Margriet is patron of the KNCV Tuberculosis Fund.
