This call falls within the National Growth Fund program Creative Industries Immersive Impact Coalition (CIIIC) and is now open for research proposals. CIIIC Start stimulates one-year exploratory research into the effectiveness and responsible use of immersive experiences (IX). The management organization SIA carries out this NGF call in collaboration with the project organization CIIIC.
Immersive experiences (IX) are experiences in which digital and physical elements come together to create rich, sensory experiences. IX have a significant impact on society. The expected growth in applications offers opportunities for various sectors: from the creative and cultural industry and knowledge institutions to domains such as safety and health. Examples of IX applications include the treatment of PTSD, where patients are placed in a controlled virtual environment. Another example is IX applications in museums where visitors are immersed in digital variants of classic paintings through the use of light, sound, and movement.
