Field reactions on the new additional funds available in the Take-off program highlight the importance of this development

Positive responses have been received from various sectors within the ecosystem where Take-off operates, especially regarding the increase in the maximum loan amount for phase 2. This is seen as a vital step to bolster startups, creating greater impact in transitioning science to practical application. The improvements are well-received by researchers, entrepreneurs, partners, and investors. Wessel Oosterwijk, senior policy officer in the Venture Capital cluster, states from the Ministry of Economic Affairs (NWO’s client for implementing phase 2): “With the successful implementation by NWO of the Early-stage Financing regulation through the Take-off phase 2 program since 2014, startups have the opportunity to further advance their innovations to be market-ready. This regulation offers early growth phase support, and with increased budgets, we can assist even more startups in succeeding.” The Knowledge Transfer Offices (KTOs) guide the steps toward impact using NWOs valorization instruments, noting the budget increase as positive for scientists and society.
