The members of the ICT Research Platform Netherlands (IPN), with the exception of WUR, are again making the Dutch Prize for ICT Research available in 2026 to honor research in the field of ICT. The field can nominate candidates for the prize, which consists of 50,000 euros, freely spendable for research in ICT, a certificate, and a sculpture. The ICT Prize is made possible by a generous grant from COMMIT.

The prize is intended for a scientific researcher who conducts innovative research or who is responsible for a scientific breakthrough in ICT. The prize is a tribute to the researcher as a person, and a promotion for the ICT profession. The prize is awarded to one person and is intended for Dutch nationals, or for foreigners who have conducted their research at Dutch educational and/or research institutions. In exceptional cases, the prize can be awarded jointly to multiple persons if the scientific research has been carried out equally by them together.

In the selection process, it will be taken into account whether the researcher has shown the ability to communicate the results achieved in understandable language to the public. The winner of the prize will be involved in a publication to be released by NWO with an accessible explanation of the awarded work and its importance, which will be digitally distributed to schools and other institutions.

The Royal Holland Society of Sciences supervises the process of this prize. To nominate candidates, you can email the secretary of natural and medical sciences of the Royal Holland Society of Sciences, Prof. Dr. A.P. IJzerman, at secretaris@khmw.nl(link sends email). Nominations must be submitted before November 15, 2025.Here(external link) contains all the necessary information to submit a nomination.
