The domain board of the NWO domain Social and Cultural Sciences is looking for an enthusiastic and committed board member from the humanities, preferably with a background in religious and philosophical sciences.
What do we ask of board members?
The sought board members possess the following knowledge and experience:
- Experience with NWO domain SGW: Candidates must have knowledge of and affinity with the tasks, organization, and instruments of NWO, particularly the SGW domain, which is evident from a relevant academic and societal network and active involvement in SGW research.
- Board experience: Candidates must possess the personal qualities to work well together in a board. Board experience in an academic context and a broad academic and societal network are a plus.
- Broad perspective: Candidates must be able to look beyond the boundaries of (the interests of) their own discipline and be explicitly capable of seeing the added value of interdisciplinary collaboration. Affinity with transdisciplinary collaboration is a plus.
- Strategic: Candidates must have an understanding and experience with themes important to NWO (think of Recognizing and Valuing, Diversity and Inclusion, Knowledge Safety, National Science Agenda, Open Access/Science, Scientific Integrity).
The SGW domain strives for a balanced composition of the domain board in terms of gender distribution, diversity, disciplinary background and experience, and spread across universities. Ideally, no board member will be recruited from UvA and EUR.
Offer
A nomination for a period of three years with the possibility to extend it once for three years; a compensation (including storage for premiums, social charges, etc.) based on the NWO fee regulations (0.15 fte) and a reimbursement of actual expenses for travel, parking, and accommodation costs for the activities.
