Chief Healthcare of the Dutch Healthcare Authority (NZa), Anneke van Vught, was appointed on January 1 as special professor of Regional Integrated Network Care at Radboudumc/ Radboud University. This chair, made possible by the NZa, enables Anneke to conduct research on the development of integrated care and support for people with vulnerable health.

Accessible and affordable healthcare and availability of youth care require involvement with what lives in society and among healthcare professionals. This special chair focuses on important issues where Anneke and Radboudumc choose a broad approach. From this position combined with her work at the NZa, she can make a meaningful contribution to a future-proof organization of care where the help request of people is central.”

Anneke van Vught, Chief Healthcare: “This chair forms for me the foundation on which science, practice, education and policy build together for sustainable, but above all humane care. I am convinced that we need each other to develop, evaluate and translate the best ideas that arise in society and healthcare practice into (national) policy. My chair focuses on regional integrated network care for people with vulnerable health with specific attention to the role of nurses.”

Background

Anneke has been working as Chief Healthcare at the NZa since August 15, 2024. She connects science and policy in organization-wide projects and advises colleagues on healthcare content, with appropriate care as the central focus. Her career includes extensive experience in healthcare practice as well as 15 years of research into innovations in care, such as task reallocation, substitution of care, network care and interprofessional collaboration. Previously, she worked at the Arnhem and Nijmegen University of Applied Sciences and the Canisius Wilhelmina Hospital. You can read more about Anneke’s background.
