On Wednesday, June 4, 2025, customs officials discovered 1102 kilograms of cocaine during a routine inspection at the port of Vlissingen. The cocaine was hidden in a shipment of fruit from Ecuador destined for a company in Europe. The drugs, with a wholesale value of 27,550,000 euros, have since been destroyed.
