The Public Prosecution Service has today demanded 36 months of imprisonment against a 37-year-old man from Oss who is suspected of holding a minor girl against her will in his home. He is also charged with attempted rape.
The young victim was approached on the street by the suspect on March 14 of this year. He then grabbed her by the arm and took her into his car. The route first went to a coffee shop in Den Bosch where the man bought cannabis. They then went to his home in Oss where the girl was forced to smoke the soft drugs.
At one point, the girl saw an opportunity to lock herself in the bathroom where she called the police. This happened according to the public prosecutor when the suspect had gone upstairs in the house to get a condom. During the car ride, he had already made several sexually suggestive comments.
During the conversation with the 112 emergency services, she told them what had happened to her. The call center clearly heard during the conversation that she was whispering to avoid being heard and that she sounded very scared. Also, at later moments, she continued to tell in detail what had happened according to the public prosecutor. Immediate action was taken by triangulating her phone so that officers could find her. This was successful. The suspect was arrested and the girl was taken care of by the officers. Two erection pills were found in the pocket of the Ossenaar. According to the Public Prosecution Service, there is no doubt about the credibility of the victims statements. The victim did not know the man, who is much older, and she had no reason to voluntarily go with the suspect.
DNA
DNA was secured on the inside of her bra by the forensic investigation of the police. This profile matches the DNA of the suspect according to the Public Prosecution Service. Additionally, the location where the DNA is found corresponds exactly with what the girl stated about the actions the suspect performed while she was present in the house. He touched her breasts, among other things.
Long prison sentence appropriate
According to the public prosecutor, a long prison sentence is appropriate in this case. “The suspect has irreparably damaged the life of the victim with his actions. She will have to carry this with her for the rest of her life. Additionally, the suspect further contributes to a general feeling of insecurity. Girls should not have to worry about being taken away by a man in broad daylight and then sexually abused. I find this very serious, especially since he takes no responsibility for his actions.”
