On Monday, December 8, the Harbor Task Force made several arrests and conducted searches in an investigation into the import of narcotics, corruption, and money laundering. The arrested suspects are a 41-year-old man from the municipality of Albrandswaard and two 43-year-old men from Rotterdam and Dordrecht. The suspects were presented to the examining magistrate on Thursday, December 11. It was decided that two of the suspects will remain in custody. The third suspect was released but remains a suspect.

The criminal investigation focuses on abusing the logistics processes of reputable companies to smuggle large quantities of narcotics. In February, a shipment of nearly 2,950 kilos of cocaine hidden in barrels of frozen fruit juice was brought into the country through the Port of Rotterdam and intercepted by Customs.

During searches at five locations in the municipalities of Albrandswaard, Rotterdam, and Dordrecht, nearly 400,000 euros in cash, a large quantity of luxury goods, an exclusive car, and firearms were seized.

The investigation, led by the Public Prosecution Service Rotterdam, is ongoing. More arrests are not excluded. Due to the ongoing investigation, no further statements can be made.
