Last Sunday, June 8, an arrestee became unwell in the detention complex of the police station on Beekstraat in Arnhem. Resuscitation was initiated on-site, after which the man was urgently taken to the hospital by ambulance. The man likely received medication in his cell that was not intended for him.
The National Criminal Investigation Department, under the direction of the Public Prosecution Service (OM), is investigating what exactly happened and how it was possible for the arrestee to receive medication that was not intended for him. The mans family was informed over the weekend about the investigation by the National Criminal Investigation Department. During this investigation, the OM and National Criminal Investigation Department are not sharing any details.
