The Public Prosecution Service (OM) has decided to prosecute the 31-year-old director of a company that sold nitrous oxide. The OM accuses him of not filing corporate tax and value-added tax returns on time and not providing documentation to the Tax Authorities. The suspect is being sought internationally because he is believed to have emigrated to Turkey.
Book Investigation
The director became known as a nitrous oxide seller after documentaries on television. In the documentaries, the director states that he made a lot of money from the trade, and the sale was also clearly presented on the companys website. These signals prompted the Tax Authorities to initiate a book investigation.
From that investigation and the subsequent FIOD investigation, it has been established that the suspect did not file his returns on time. Furthermore, the director did not cooperate sufficiently with the book investigation initiated by the Tax Authorities. The estimated amount of damage is at least several hundred thousand euros.
The suspect is summoned to the Amsterdam court. A hearing date is not yet known.
