Decrypted messages from the SkyECC crypto communication service play an important role in the case. According to the Public Prosecution Service, these show that the suspect was involved in hard drug trafficking for eight months in 2020 and 2021. Messages were sent about delivering colo and boli - Colombian or Bolivian cocaine. Photos of blocks of drugs were also sent.
Additionally, the messages indicate that the suspect must have laundered over two million euros.
Procedural Agreements
The Public Prosecution Service can make procedural agreements with the defense about, for example, the sentence demand and the manner of proceedings. Procedural agreements can shorten the duration of a criminal case in the interest of all parties involved. It ensures timely execution of an imposed sentence and allows for the settlement of other criminal cases.
In this case, it was agreed that the suspect will not present a defense nor submit investigation requests. The Public Prosecution Service reduces the sentence demand by one third. Both parties will also not appeal if the court finds the agreements justified, and the suspect will serve his sentence immediately.
The Public Prosecution Service demands 40 months imprisonment against the suspect. The court will give its verdict in two weeks.
