Corien Fahner will be appointed as chief public prosecutor at the Northern Netherlands Public Prosecution Service as of June 1, 2025. She succeeds Diederik Greive, who will start as a (co)director of SSR, the training institute of the Judiciary and the Public Prosecution Service.
Fahner started her career at the Public Prosecution Service in 1997 as an administrative legal assistant at the Public Prosecutors Office. In 2005, she became a public prosecutor at the Hague Public Prosecutors Office, after which she transitioned to the Northern Netherlands Public Prosecutors Office in this role. Here she worked in various leadership positions and as an investigative officer. In 2021, Fahner became the deputy chief public prosecutor at the Public Prosecutors Office in North Holland.
The appointment has proceeded according to the appointment procedure for positions in the top structure.
