In two refrigerated containers aboard a ship, Customs found a total of 50 kilos of cocaine last weekend.

In the inspection hatches of a refrigerated container with frozen horse meat, Customs found 20 kilos of cocaine. The container originated from Brazil. In a container from Argentina, Customs found another 30 kilos of cocaine. Here too, the drugs were hidden in the inspection hatches. The container was loaded with frozen citrus juice.

Poppy

In September this year, Customs inspected a container with various dried flowers and flower bulbs. That container was destined for the United States. Poppy bulbs were also among them. Parts of some poppy families are prohibited, so samples were sent to the laboratory. After examination, it turned out that in this case it was indeed poppy listed on list 1 of the Opium Act. In total, 184 kilograms of prohibited poppy were seized.

HARC team

The HARC team, a cooperation between Customs, FIOD, Port Police and the Public Prosecution Service in Rotterdam that has existed for 29 years, is further investigating the case. The drugs have since been destroyed.
