During a routine customs inspection on Tuesday, December 16, at a cold storage facility in Breda, a shipment of 78 kilos of cocaine was discovered.
The inspection focused on pallets with boxes of pineapples from Costa Rica, which were unloaded in Antwerp on December 15, 2025. Inside the boxes of pineapples, 430 packages of narcotics were found, totaling 78 kilos of cocaine. The company in Breda is not involved in the smuggling.
The narcotics have since been destroyed.
HARC Team
The HARC team, a cooperation of Customs, FIOD, Port Police, and the Public Prosecution Service in Rotterdam that has existed for 28 years, is continuing the investigation.
