On January 14, a person died at a campsite in Vorden. He died as a result of stab wounds. A 46-year-old man from Enschede, who was also injured, was arrested as a suspect. He was released three days later because there were no grounds to hold him longer. While awaiting the results of the investigation, he remained a suspect. It has now been established that no crime took place. The 46-year-old was wrongly identified as a suspect; he did not stab anyone. Involvement of a third party has been ruled out. The Public Prosecution Service has discontinued the case. Due to the privacy of those involved and because no crime is at issue, the Public Prosecution Service cannot provide further information.
