The HARC-NZKG, a collaboration between FIOD, police, and Customs led by the Public Prosecution Service, intercepted a significant shipment of cocaine in the Amsterdam port last Monday.
The narcotics were hidden in a container with food products originating from Ghana and destined for a company in the United Kingdom.
Initial inspection suggested more than 500 kilos of cocaine, but further investigation revealed some blocks contained other substances. Of the 544 kilo blocks, over 250 actually contained cocaine.
No arrests have been made so far. The investigation is ongoing. Currently, there is no indication that the company in the United Kingdom is involved with the narcotics.
The HARC-NZKG works daily to combat the import of narcotics through ports.
