Heleen Rutgers will be appointed as the chief public prosecutor of the Midden-Nederland district on October 20, 2025. She succeeds Rutger Jeuken, who has been the chief public prosecutor of the Rotterdam district since March of this year.
After her RAIO training, Heleen Rutgers started at the Public Prosecution Service in 1997 as a public prosecutor. Throughout her career, she has held various positions, both as a public prosecutor and in leadership roles, at the Midden-Nederland, Oost-Brabant, and Amsterdam districts. Before becoming the chief public prosecutor in Oost-Brabant in 2018, she was the deputy chief public prosecutor in Midden-Nederland.
The appointment has followed the appointment procedure for positions in the top structure.
