The Public Prosecution Service believes that the 41-year-old suspect from Heerlen is guilty of online sexual abuse of five minor girls. He is suspected of forcing these girls to perform sexual acts on themselves, record them, and send the videos to him. Additionally, the suspect was in possession of other child pornography.

Demand for sentence

The Public Prosecution Service holds the suspect heavily accountable for pressuring the minor girls to produce and send child pornography to him. Behavioral research has shown that the suspect has a disorder, and experts have therefore advised imposing a TBS measure with treatment by the government. Due to the severity of the offenses and the scale of this case, the Public Prosecution Service considers a long prison sentence appropriate in addition to this measure. For this reason, the public prosecutor today demanded an unconditional prison sentence of 7 years and, in addition, the TBS measure with treatment as advised by experts.

Investigation

The police investigation in this case has experienced considerable delays due to circumstances. It only became clear at a late stage that the suspect suffers from a disorder as established by experts. All this meant that the suspect was still at liberty until the hearing. The public prosecutor today requested at the hearing that the suspect be taken into custody immediately. The court agreed and ordered the suspects detention effective today.
