The Public Prosecution Service (OM) has demanded an unconditional prison sentence of 32 months for a 48-year-old man from Tilburg for possession and trafficking of drugs. The OM also demands a fine of 50,000 euros.

In the same case, the OM demands a conditional prison sentence of 180 days and 240 hours of community service against a 49-year-old woman from Breda. The severity of the sentences has been established in plea agreements made by the public prosecutor with the suspects and their defense.

Before the substantive hearing of the criminal case, which took place today in Breda, the court was informed.

Investigation Century began in 2024 with a TCI formation regarding the male suspect who allegedly sold drugs as a taxi driver. Observations show that he makes many short trips with his customers, presumably moments when transactions take place. An observer also saw the suspect repeatedly putting something in a mailbox during work.

Leading Role

In phone taps, the suspect talks about SOS, bags, grams, quantities, transfers, and locations. It also appears that he cooperates with the female suspect, who works at his company. The suspect directs her in delivering narcotics.

Research has shown that the 48-year-old man traded drugs from November 20, 2019, to November 19, 2024. During that period, he sold cocaine to a large number of customers frequently. The 49-year-old woman was active as a courier from December 16, 2023, to November 19, 2024. The OM has sufficient evidence that both suspects committed the criminal offenses.

For the OM and the police, plea agreements mean that more and earlier capacity becomes available for other investigations. Also, the burden on the entire criminal justice chain at courts, courts of appeal, and the Supreme Court is reduced due to faster processing times. A suspect also knows earlier what to expect. In exchange for a lower sentence demand, the suspect waives investigation requests, defenses against the charges, and appeals.

The court in Breda gave oral judgments in both cases on Tuesday, in accordance with the demands and plea agreements made.
