The National Police, under the leadership of the Public Prosecution Service (PPS) Zeeland-West-Brabant, has initiated an investigation following the death of a detainee on the morning of Saturday, November 29.

The 28-year-old woman from Roosendaal was taken to the Mijkenbroek detention complex in Breda on the evening of Thursday, November 27. On Saturday morning, she became unwell and was medically examined on site by a doctor, who determined that she had died in her cell.

National Police

It is customary for the National Police to conduct investigations in such cases to determine the cause of death. The National Police is part of the Public Prosecution Service, and the investigation is led by a public prosecutor.
