The Public Prosecution Service has today demanded community service sentences ranging from 60 to 80 hours against three minors involved in the riots in Scheveningen. According to the Public Prosecution Service, the youths are guilty of open violence against the police.

On Thursday evening, May 1, a group of youths turned against the police in Scheveningen. The mobile unit intervened but was pelted with stones, bicycles, and glass. Many damages were also caused in the area, including to street furniture and entrepreneurs property.

The suspects - aged 14, 15, and 17 at the time - were part of that group. Footage from cameras, in which they were recognized, shows that they contributed to the violence.
