The child and animal pornography found on the phones of a 30-year-old man from The Hague was so violent that two officers from the animal police needed psychological help after seeing the images. Today, the suspect appeared in court.

According to the Public Prosecution Service, there is clear evidence that the suspect is guilty of possessing and distributing child and animal pornography. The images showed, among other things, how animals were severely abused, penetrated, and met a gruesome end. The child pornography mainly consisted of images of young children aged 0-8 years, some of which involved severe violence. On the three phones examined from the suspect, 1,562 child pornographic files (photos and videos) and 721 animal pornographic files were found.

For the Team Combatting Child Pornography and Child Sex Tourism (TBKK), the viewing of particularly the animal pornographic material was psychologically so burdensome that ultimately about 10,000 images of a similar nature were not viewed and described.

Production of visual material

The suspect admits that he has possessed and distributed both child and animal pornography. The Public Prosecution Service states that the suspect has also committed the offense of producing animal pornography. The suspect admits that he once had another man perform sexual acts on his dog and filmed it. But chats between them indicate, according to the Public Prosecution Service, that they have met more often. They discuss in the chat their appointments where they will perform sexual acts on the dogs in a violent manner. Messages also show that the suspect filmed the man multiple times during these acts.

In addition to possession, acquisition, production, and distribution of visual material, the Public Prosecution Service also considers it proven that the suspect abused his own dogs. The suspect admits this as well.

The Public Prosecution Service demands a sentence of 48 months, of which 18 are conditional with a probation period of 3 years, with the condition, among others, that he must undergo treatment. Furthermore, the Public Prosecution Service has requested a behavioral-influencing and freedom-restricting measure so that the suspect can receive help and guidance for the rest of his life if necessary.
