At the Amsterdam court, the Public Prosecution Service today provided an update during the first pro forma hearing about the violent rape on August 15 this year in Amsterdam and the death of Lisa five days later. According to the Public Prosecution Service, DNA of the suspect was found on both the rape victim and the murdered Lisa.
A knife was found in his locker at a COA shelter location with Lisas DNA on it. Other investigative findings also point to the suspect. For example, near the location where Lisas body was found, a phone case was discovered containing her blood and the suspects DNA, and the same bicycle is visible on camera footage at both the rape and the murder scenes.
The suspect, arrested by a task force on August 21, neither denies nor admits involvement and says he does not remember the events. He will soon undergo a psychological examination at the Pieter Baan Center.
The Amsterdam court has extended his pre-trial detention until the next hearing on February 11, 2026. This will again be a pro forma hearing and not a substantive trial.
