The 55-year-old man who was arrested on Monday night on suspicion of stabbing three police officers will remain in custody for two more weeks. This was decided by the examining magistrate. The Public Prosecution Service suspects the man of attempted murder, attempted serious bodily harm, and resisting arrest with injury as a consequence.
During the stabbing incident, three police officers were injured, and two had to go to the hospital for treatment. They responded to a report of someone throwing his belongings out of a house on the Warnsborn in Amsterdam North. A fight broke out with the man, during which the officers were stabbed. A stun gun was used during the arrest.
The investigation into the stabbing is ongoing, and the police are still looking for witnesses
