In the investigation into an attempted murder by poisoning that took place in June 2024 in Nuth, the court determined on September 16 that the suspect, a 50-year-old man from Heerlen, will remain in custody longer. The suspect is now also officially suspected of the murder of his brother in June 2023.
The court has extended the pre-trial detention with this fact: the suspect is now in custody for both offenses.
The cases will be dealt with simultaneously in due course.
