Fourteen suspects who, according to the Public Prosecution Service, were involved in the riots at and around Malieveld in The Hague on Saturday must account for themselves before the court on Tuesday. Their cases are scheduled for a so-called summary trial.
The Public Prosecution Service reviewed 27 cases on Monday of suspects who were still in custody. Other suspects had already been released by the police, most of them with a fine.
To the police judge
Fourteen suspects must immediately account for themselves before the police judge on Tuesday. According to the Public Prosecution Service, the investigation into their criminal cases has been completed, so they can be dealt with immediately. Three of the suspects are minors and will appear at a closed hearing before the juvenile court; the other hearings are public.
Seven suspects will be presented to the examining magistrate on Tuesday with the Public Prosecution Services request to extend their pre-trial detention by fourteen days. Further investigation is needed in their cases. The Public Prosecution Service intends to bring them before the police judge within those two weeks.
Six suspects have been sent away by the Public Prosecution Service. They remain suspects, and further investigation is ongoing in their cases.

The suspects who will appear in the summary trial tomorrow are mostly suspected of violence against persons and/or property, specifically police officers and vehicles.
