The Customs intercepted 2598 kilos of cocaine during a check in the port of Vlissingen on Thursday, February 27, 2025. Five men were arrested on suspicion of involvement in smuggling.
During an investigation by the Port Police, the drugs were discovered by Customs in various pallets of fruit from Ecuador. The fruit was en route to a company in Europe.

These included two men (30 and 31) without fixed residence, a man (44) from Dalfsen, a man (44) from Hoevelaken, and a man (47) from Hilversum.
The cocaine, with a wholesale value of 65 million euros, was collected by the Special Assistance Team (TBB) of Customs and has since been destroyed. The Port Police provided support in securing the port area.
In the warehouse in Ulvenhout, the police seized a truck, a truck with trailer, a horse trailer, a trailer, two vans, and a forklift.
