The suspect, a 35-year-old teacher arrested on October 7, 2024, in Arnhem, is currently in pre-trial detention, suspected of the abuse of a minor and the production, possession, and distribution of child pornography. These acts took place outside the school premises. The first pro forma hearing will take place on January 14, during which the court will decide if the suspect should remain in pre-trial detention based on these allegations.
The suspect was a primary school teacher in Arnhem. Parents were informed of the teachers arrest at the end of November.
Investigations have revealed that inappropriate and possibly illegal activities occurred within the school context as well. This includes the secret photographing and/or filming of several female former employees and three children. All subjects in the images were clothed. Some of these images have been distributed by the suspect. The police have personally informed the concerned former employees and the parents of the children involved.
Due to the sensitivity of this case and the privacy of the individuals involved, the Public Prosecution Service will not share further information at this stage.
