The accident occurred around 4:45 AM on the N31 near Leeuwarden. A person and a police car from the Northern Netherlands Unit were involved. Preliminary findings from the National Police investigation indicate that the officers involved are not suspects in the inquiry.
The further investigation into the cause of the accident is being conducted by the Traffic Accident Analysis (VOA) of the Eastern Netherlands Unit.
