Large Quantity of Fireworks Found in Almelo Residence

On Tuesday afternoon, November 11, the police discovered a large quantity of mostly heavy, illegal fireworks in a residence on Nachtegaalstraat in Almelo. In total, it concerned over five hundred kilos. In addition to the fireworks, a gas alarm pistol and pepper spray were also found.

Officers traced the address based on an investigation. The suspect was not present but will have to account for themselves during an interrogation at a later time. The Public Prosecution Service (OM) will handle the further consequences for the resident.

Storing the fireworks posed a significant risk. The police remain vigilant for such quantities of illegal fireworks in the lead-up to the New Years Eve celebrations.
