The police tracked down the cannabis cultivation after an anonymous tip-off. On the morning of Tuesday, July 22, the house on Hugo de Grootstraat was entered. Upon entering the house, an operational cannabis cultivation with approximately 165 cannabis plants was discovered. The cultivation has been dismantled and evidence has been secured.
Risks
Illegal electricity was tapped in the house. The energy company has removed the meter and cut off the power supply. Tapping illegal electricity is often the case with cannabis cultivations and poses significant risks for neighbors. Short circuits or overheating can cause fires, for example. It is important that you report any suspicions of a cannabis cultivation. Do you smell a strong cannabis odor nearby? Do you experience a constant buzzing or rumbling sound from an exhaust fan? Then you might be dealing with a cannabis cultivation.
