Five Arrests in Investigation into Assaults at the Vrijthof

Maastricht – The police have arrested five suspects from Maastricht and surrounding areas in connection with the assaults at the Vrijthof during Carnival Sunday.
On that evening, a violent incident occurred between carnival-goers at the Vrijthof in Maastricht. Several individuals, dressed in vests with SWAT prints, assaulted multiple victims. Footage of the assaults was widely shared on social media.
As a result of the investigation, five individuals have been arrested. The investigation continues relentlessly, and further arrests are not ruled out.
