Three of the five suspects were arrested on Thursday, June 5. Two suspects were arrested in a drug lab in Gelderse Lienden. They are a 44-year-old and a 45-year-old man from Colombia and Venezuela.
That day, officers also followed a third suspect who was driving a van from Belgium to the Netherlands. The driver of that van entered a warehouse on Laagjesweg in Rotterdam. Officers later followed and found an unmanned drug lab there. The driver of the car was not found. However, drugs were found in the car, which, like the car, were seized.
Arrest by arrest team
In the evening, a 40-year-old man from Ridderkerk was arrested by an arrest team. After the suspect was stopped by the AT, he drove off in his car. After a crash, the man continued on foot. To force him to stop, a warning shot was first fired and then he was shot with a beanbag.
After the arrest in Rotterdam, a residence and a business premises were searched in Ridderkerk. In the business premises, one kilogram of drugs was found and seized.
Ongoing investigation
The other two suspects were arrested on June 23 and are a man (42) and a woman (38) from Ingen.
Ultimately, four of the five suspects were brought before the examining magistrate. Three suspects are still in custody. The investigation into drug trafficking and who else may be involved continues unabated.
