A victim (16) was alerted around 6:30 PM on Saturday that his scooter was no longer in the parking spot. The moped had probably been stolen. The man called a family member and together they went looking. Soon they saw the suspect riding in the Brugstraat. They tried to block his way, but he managed to escape through a grassy field. They saw him driving away via the Goirkekanaaldijk and followed him, but lost sight of him in the Vijverlaan. The police had also begun a search and saw the suspect (14) driving. Officers arrested him in the Arent van ’s Gravesandestraat. The scooter sustained considerable damage.
