The emergency services were called around 11:25 PM due to a house fire. Neighbors reportedly heard a loud bang and saw a man walking through the gutter. The fire department was dispatched and extinguished the raging fire. No one was injured.

Fireworks

Shortly thereafter, a report came in that a man had set off fireworks in the Market. A bystander may have suffered hearing damage as a result. The suspect was arrested and taken to the hospital for examination. A blood test was also taken to determine if he was under the influence of narcotics. The suspect was then placed in a police cell. Witness statements indicated that this suspect was also seen at the fire in the house on Kromme Weele.  The man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted manslaughter and arson. The police are conducting further investigations into the house fire and the incident in the Market.
