It is shortly before 5:00 PM when commotion arises in a supermarket on Postjesweg. The suspect has an argument with store employees when he wants to leave the supermarket through the self-scan gates. A receipt is needed to open these gates. It turns out the suspect does not have one, leading to a scuffle with a store employee. When the gates open, the suspect walks away frustrated. At that moment, he encounters the 85-year-old man. The unsuspecting man receives a hard shove from the suspect and falls to the ground. In the process, he breaks his hip. Fortunately, bystanders immediately take care of the victim. The police are called, and responding officers can shortly thereafter arrest the suspect in the vicinity. The victim has been taken to the hospital.
