Officers received a report that a vehicle had ended up in a ditch. On site, they found a man and a woman who had climbed out of the vehicle and were staggering. When officers tried to assist them, both reacted aggressively and threateningly towards the police.
A preliminary saliva test later showed that both suspects were under the influence of drugs. A struggle ensued between the man and the officers. The woman intervened in the fight and was kept at a distance with a baton. Ultimately, the man was arrested with the help of pepper spray and force. The woman was also arrested.
One of the officers was injured during the incident and had to be treated at the emergency room. Both suspects were taken to the police station and are being questioned there. The police are conducting further investigation into the cause of the incident.
Violence against police
Police officers act against aggressive behavior and make clear which behavior is and is not accepted. Physical violence, threats, assault, or insults directed at police are unacceptable and lead to immediate arrest. Incidents where police officers become victims of aggression or violence are given high priority.
