On Saturday, April 26, around 7:00 PM, the group of young people – aged approximately 14 to 18 years – docked their boat at the Amstelkade near Reggestraat. At that moment, there was also a group of people barbecuing on the quay. The young people immediately caused enormous nuisance. They knocked over bicycles, urinated against houses, and provoked bystanders. When one of the group of people confronted the young people about their behavior, a fight broke out. Eventually, a man was attacked to such an extent that he suffered a broken hip. Additionally, his heavily pregnant wife ended up on the ground. 

Witnesses sought

The detective is currently investigating the assault. The team has already spoken with several witnesses but is eager to get in touch with more people who saw anything of the incident or can tell more about the involved young people.
