The three explosions took place in Kerkrade, Limbricht, and Geleen. The explosive in Kerkrade was placed on Christmas Eve (December 24) at a house on Grachterstraat. This was not the first time that residents were startled by an explosive there. It happened earlier on June 13 and November 16. In early February, two people from Riemst (Belgium) were arrested on suspicion of involvement in the incidents in Kerkrade. Read more about it here.
The 25-year-old woman who was arrested on Tuesday is one of the two people who were arrested in February in Riemst. She is no longer only suspected of the explosions in Kerkrade, but now also of involvement in the explosion at a building on Hofkamp in Geleen on December 4. The man who was arrested alongside her in Riemst is now also suspected of involvement in the explosion on December 21 at a house on Pastoor Janssenstraat in Limbricht.
The investigation into these explosions continues unabated. Multiple arrests are therefore not ruled out.
