According to those involved, a dispute arose for unknown reasons between a witness and the victim. During this dispute, the suspect, a 22-year-old man from Nederweert, stabbed the victim with a sharp object in his leg.
The victim, a 27-year-old man from Breda, sought treatment from the family doctor. He sustained minor injuries and did not need to go to the hospital.
Officers took a statement from a witness and transferred the suspect to a police detention center. He will be allowed to give a statement on Tuesday about what exactly happened. The man has been detained and is still in custody.
