The police received a report around 10:00 PM that two people had fallen into the water. It concerned two men who had already gotten out of the water by the time the officers arrived. When the men were asked to leave, they refused and resisted. One of the suspects punched a police officer in the face. The other suspect tried to grab the stun gun of another officer. Both suspects were arrested and the stun gun was used. The suspects are men aged 26 and 41 from The Hague.

Unacceptable

Aggression and violence against police and emergency services is unacceptable. Police officers have a responsible role in society and must be able to do their work without being hindered. Aggression or violence, in any form, against staff is not tolerated. This applies to everyone working for the police: officers, detectives, dispatch staff, front desk staff, and support department staff. Violence against people with a public task is always prioritized by the police. For more information, visit this page
