Cargo Theft
In recent days, the police received signals that multiple cargo thefts had occurred at parking lots along the A2 highway. Last night, officers noticed “fresh” holes in the sidewalls of parked trucks.
As a result, officers decided to go undercover. During the night, two vehicles appeared with the three suspects inside. A 26-year-old man from Eindhoven, a 21-year-old man from Valkenswaard, and a 20-year-old man from Waalre.
Thanks to swift police work, the suspects were caught in the act and arrested for questioning. The goods have been seized, and the investigation continues.
Cargo theft is a major problem
Cargo theft is a significant issue in the Netherlands; companies that fall victim suffer substantial financial losses. Thieves typically steal electronics and clothing, taking everything they see as marketable.
The police and the Public Prosecution Service work together to combat this form of crime. It is also important for companies that have become victims to file a report. Companies are urged to be vigilant for signs of cargo theft.
