Between 8:30 and 9:45 AM, we encountered ten drivers on the Lisserweg in Lisserbroek who were driving faster than 60 kilometers per hour, reaching speeds of 80 kilometers per hour or more. The highest recorded speed was 90 kilometers per hour. These ten drivers received a fine.
Throttle prohibited or fatbike
We encountered four youths on a fatbike who were riding faster than 25 kilometers per hour. And someone with a throttle on the fatbike. A throttle on a fatbike is prohibited. Be aware of this when purchasing such a bike AND if you already have one. These parts are also sold separately. These five youths received a fine. Their parents were called to inform them. In case of a next violation, another fine will follow, and the bike will be confiscated.
70 kilometers per hour on the bike path
Two people were riding their moped too fast on a bike path. They received a fine. The highest recorded speed was 70 kilometers per hour, while the maximum allowed speed on a bike path outside built-up areas is 40 kilometers per hour.
A total of 32 fines
A total of 32 fines were issued, including:
- 3 × for speeding
- 2 × for failing to yield
- 5 × for holding a phone while driving
- 1 × for holding a phone while cycling
- 2 × for not following the direction of traffic
- 1 × for causing unnecessary noise pollution with an open exhaust
- 1 × for violating taxi legislation
