On Wednesday around 9:10 PM, the Operational Center (OC) of the police received a report from a passerby who saw several people walking suspiciously on the street. The witness provided a good description and location. A plainclothes police patrol unit present nearby immediately started an investigation. They saw three individuals near a house in Paulinapolder. At that moment, the trio was wearing face-covering clothing. Upon first contact with the officers, they could not explain their behavior or presence.
Second report
Shortly after, a second report came in about a car with its engine running near the trio. Officers detained the three individuals aged 15, 16, and 18, and also arrested the 18-year-old driver. The suspects carried items commonly used in robberies. The four suspects have been detained for further questioning and remain in custody. They come from Utrecht, Leidschendam, and Zwolle. The police continue their investigation.
It is extremely important that citizens call 112 immediately if they observe a situation they do not trust. In this case, that was crucial and allowed us to arrest the four and prevent a possible robbery.
