Network operator Liander noticed an extremely high electricity usage in a block on Dijckscampenlaan in Purmerend. A tip was also received via Report Crime Anonymously. The investigation led to several houses. On November 12, the police drug team visited the homes and discovered the plantation in an attic. The 115 plants were removed. A 38-year-old woman and a 44-year-old man from Purmerend were arrested; their roles are being further investigated. The investigation concerns the cultivation of soft drugs and electricity theft.
