Explosions
Amsterdam experiences many incidents involving explosive devices. This is concerning because the danger to business owners, residents, passersby, and emergency responders on site is naturally significant. Heavy illegal fireworks, jerrycans with flammable liquids, or homemade explosives do not belong in public spaces—where people work and live—and create life-threatening situations. This must stop. The police are working hard to track down suspects involved in this form of excessive violence. This has already led to multiple arrests, convictions, and severe prison sentences. However, to find the perpetrators, the police need the help of local residents. After all, they know their neighborhood best. If something seems out of place in the streetscape, they are usually the first to notice. Providing information to the police is therefore crucial.
