The police initiated this investigation following decrypted cryptocommunication messages. The investigation quickly focused on multiple suspects and a network built around drug trafficking. The suspects are believed to be involved with several hospitality establishments on Kruisstraat, which are suspected to have been actively used for criminal meetings and drug trafficking.
The arrested suspects are two men aged 25 and 30 from Eindhoven, a 58-year-old woman from Eindhoven, and a 59-year-old man from Helmond. Further investigation will reveal who had what role.

Area-focused approach
This investigation is not isolated but is part of an area-focused approach around Kruisstraat and Woenselse Markt in Eindhoven. A months-long undermining investigation resulted in four arrests on February 5 of this year. An integrated control on August 28 is also part of this approach.
Kruisstraat and Woenselse Markt
The area around Kruisstraat and Woenselse Markt in Eindhoven is diverse in cultures, lifestyles, and entrepreneurship. Efforts are being made to strengthen the positive aspects of this area as part of Pact Woensel Zuid.
One of the ambitions is for people to feel comfortable and safe in Woenselse Markt and Kruisstraat, both at home and on the street. This is being done, for example, by reducing significant traffic nuisance and litter and working on a broader range of shops.
At the same time, there has long been crime, nuisance, and public order disturbances in Woenselse Markt and Kruisstraat. Project Aurora involves the municipality, police, public prosecution, and tax authorities working together to tackle this persistent undermining, not just this year but in the coming years. We do this, among other things, by detecting and combating criminal networks. In this way, we aim to break the attraction that this area unfortunately has on criminals. We also want to prevent them from moving (in whole) to another area in the city. This way, we create space for improvement in the area and contribute to a pleasant and safe neighborhood.
