Earlier that evening, a fight had already occurred on Lijnbaanstraat in Katwijk. While several police units gathered to prevent a further confrontation between the groups, three men were attacked by a larger group on Koestraat in Rijnsburg. Two men from Rijnsburg, aged 23 and 24, were seriously injured.
Witnesses sought
The investigation is ongoing. It is strongly considered that several groups deliberately sought each other out that evening with the intention to fight. A neighborhood investigation has since taken place. Although the investigation team has already spoken to several witnesses and received camera footage, they do not rule out that there are still people they have not yet contacted.
