The award goes to the Works Council that acts according to its vision, both strategically and tactically, maintains active contact in all parts of the organization, and clearly takes initiative benefiting both the company and the employees.
According to the jury, the Central Works Council (COR) combines strategic vision with concrete results, influences policy proactively, provides strong advice in crucial domains, and manages to realize investments and policy changes, such as the fireworks ban.
Furthermore, the COR looks beyond its own organization, actively seeks cooperation with political and societal partners, and takes responsibility for broader public interests.
Internally, the COR works professionally and expertly with committees that also include external experts. Many members follow training courses, which leads to a solid foundation for the future. The reflective attitude and sharing of knowledge with other Works Councils and the vision on the organization ‘beyond the WOR’ make the COR an inspiring example.
Former COR Chairperson Loes Thissen: It is fantastic!
With disbelief and especially with great pride, former COR chairperson Loes Thissen reflects on winning the award: “This is the culmination of 8 years of focused work, and the focus on good participation. It is fantastic!”.
HRM Director Katja Verhulst was also present to witness this beautiful moment: “It is good to participate in such competitions because sometimes you no longer see how you have developed yourself. I am super proud of the COR. I think it is a very deserved victory.”
